Triana Biomedicines

Triana Biomedicines is unraveling the full potential of molecular glues to develop unique therapeutics to treat otherwise undruggable targets. This novel approach allows targeted treatments to be developed for a wide range of conditions.

The company secured a third floor, 30,000 RSF suite at 1050 Waltham Street in Lexington, MA. The site provides a brand-new lab-ready facility with state-of-the-art amenities. The suite is arranged with 50/50 split of office and research space. With most researchers needing an office seat, it was important to provide a relaxed and friendly environment that would foster communication between departments and allow staff to collaborate organically.

The geometry of the space provided some challenges as well as opportunities. Two different structural grid systems at angles with one another set the stage for a dynamic plan configuration. The main focal point is the common break room, an open area defined by an elaborate sculptural ceiling open to the main reception on one side, and the main work area on the other. The scheme allows the large exterior glazed windows to be visible from the elevator lobby, before entering the actual space. The common breakroom, in conjunction with small meeting spaces attached to it acts as a fulcrum tying together the different areas of the office and is highlighted by using corporate brand colors.

The research spaces include a large and open lab space connecting directly to the office. Several Tissue Culture and Specialty/Flex labs complete the research suite. The corporate colors have been incorporated in the lab as well, in the form of a way-finding random pattern throughout the main circulation zones. All research spaces were also located on the windows, providing natural light to all areas the staff typically occupies.
