José Moreno, Associate AIA, NOMA

Project Captain

José brings 14 years of architectural experience to the Vivo team from a variety of project types, including mixed-use, high-rise lab and residential, multi-family public housing, banks, K-12 schools, commercial, and private plane and yacht fit-outs. He fell in love with design at a young age when his father designed and built the house he grew up in, but his inspiration to practice architecture came from living in Brooklyn, NY, where the city is a playground for design, sustainability, and innovation for architects from all over the world. A defining experience in his career was being on two Solar Decathlon Project teams, a design-build competition for high-performance, low-carbon buildings sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. He believes that architecture is a vehicle for change, designed to make a difference.

Outside the office, José enjoys sharing his love of drawing and photography with his daughter, traveling with his family and spending time outdoors in the garden.

"

I always believed that, as an architect, I could be part of the change to maintain the fabric of communities.
