The design team worked to develop Simons' vision to refresh and modernize the aging mall originally constructed in 1969. That vision included not only renovation of approximately 147,000 square feet of the existing mall concourse, food court and exterior entry pavillions but also the addition of a new ground up 90,000 square foot Lifestyle Center in the footprint of a former department store. The Lifestyle Center included small shop retail and restaurants in four separate buildings grouped around an open-air courtyard.
